An exciting vacancy within our Locality Services Team at Canterbury City Council
Are you someone with a keen eye for detail and a passion for making the area we live in a better place?
Working closely with out Contracts Team you will help us ensure the successful delivery of a number of contracts including the Grounds Maintenance contract, building cleaning, waste collection and the Street Cleansing contract with Canenco.

About this Locality Services job:
This is an exciting role working as part of a collaborative team on varied workload.
In this role, you will be:
Carrying out regular inspections to ensure the quality of work delivered is in line with expectations
Working to resolve issues identified swiftly with our contractors
Responding to reports from members of the community regarding the delivery of key services
Your working pattern:
Full-time, 37 hours per week
Flexible, hybrid working arrangements
Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays
A full week off over Christmas in addition to your annual leave allowance
About you, the ideal Locality Services Officer for the job:
Your knowledge
Requires an extensive understanding of relevant processes, statutory compliance, regulations and legislation for multiple service areas
Your experience
Ability to demonstrate customer service skills in managing challenging and complex situations whilst taking into consideration people’s different styles/needs
Your skills
Communicates clearly and effectively to diverse audiences in writing and verbally on a range of topics
Ability to work with a degree of autonomy as well as being an effective team player
Your qualifications
Good standard of English and Maths at GCSE grade 4 or above or the equivalent work related experience
Full driving licence and access to your own vehicle
Due to the nature of this role, the successful applicant will be required to undertake a Basic DBS check as part of their pre-employment clearances.
