Summary
An exciting new opportunity has arisen on the GP Referral Unit (GPRU) for a part-time Band 6 Specialist Nurse.
GPRU is an emergency clinic where patients withacute ENT and maxillofacial problems are triaged, assessed and treated . We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated nurse willing to learn and develop their skillsto provide high quality, specialist care. There will be training and development opportunities andyou will be supported by ourexperienced multidisciplinary team.
Applicants should be flexible and caring with a well organised and professional manner. In this post you will be expected to work autonomously, demonstrate good coordination and leadership traits, actively collaborate with the team and demonstrate willingness to develop your skills.
The unit is open from 7am to 10pm everyday and you will be required to work Early shifts (7am-7:30pm) and Late shifts (9:30am-10pm) , including weekends and bank holidays.
• To co-ordinate and supervise the delivery of specialist evidence-based care to patients with urgent ENT/OMFS problems on the GP Referral Unit.
• To provide clinical leadership, acting as a role model, and promote effective teamwork in the department;
• To provide ambulatory care to patients and promote patient flow from emergeny services;
• To ensure patient safety and quality of care, by undertaking audits and participating in service improvement projects;
• To work at an enhanced clinical level as a specialist nurse, providing support to patients with ENT and OMFS problems.

• To co-ordinate the daily running of the clinic, actively using problem-solving skills;
• To work at an enhanced clinical level as a specialist nurse;
• To provide clinical leadership and act as a role model in clinic;
• To undertake effective teamwork and delegate as required;
• To promote quality of care by undertaking audits, participating in service improvement projects and engaging with patient feedback.
