This post offers an exciting opportunity to join NAHSCP’s Children and Families Senior Management Team, with a remit for Children’s Residential Services, Fostering, Adoption, Kinship Care and Throughcare. We’re seeking an experienced and aspirational leader who shares North Ayrshire Council’s values of Focus, Passion and Inspiration and can successfully lead on our highly ambitious transformation programme as we strive to improve outcomes for our care experienced young people, those transitioning to adulthood, and those on the edge of care. In line with our Promise commitments, the HSCP has a firm focus on providing the right support and intervention to allow children and young people to remain with birth family or wider family wherever possible, preventing them from coming into local authority care. However, we know that sometimes this cannot be avoided, for a variety of reasons. We have ambitions plans to reform the pathways of support for care experienced children and young people. Our Brighter Pathways Programme is closely aligned with the North Ayrshire Promise Development Plan and is overseeing a number of focused workstreams looking at how services can be delivered differently to ensure care experienced children and young people have access to the appropriate resources and supports into adulthood. With your leadership and experience, this programme of work will deliver real change and allow our care experienced young people to grow up in a nurturing environment and go on to have happy, healthy and successful independent lives
