Havencare is a forward-thinking and growing charity. We have been making a difference for over 35 years, changing the lives of people who have learning disabilities, autism, brain injuries, and other support needs. Our big aims include every person having a home that is right for them, and support for the life they choose.
At Havencare, first and foremost, we are looking for outstanding people who align with our values of Transparency, Quality and Engagement.
An understanding of positive behaviour support (PBS) and leading PBS in practice would be an advantage, although not essential because we can develop these skills and experience with the right person who has the attitude and aptitude to learn and deliver at this level.
About the Role
You will work on-shift, leading your team in outstanding practice. You will lead the principles of “nothing about me without me”, ensuring the supported person’s voice (behaviours, expressions, actions, words) is heard, and they are leading their support planning, delivery, and review.
Some of the duties will include:
Managing Hub rotas and individual rotas as relevant that ensure high-quality person-centred support is delivered in the most efficient way.
Planning shared spaces activities (in “support hubs”) co-productively with supported people and staff teams.
Ethically recruiting, retaining, developing, supervising, appraising, and engaging Practice Leaders assigned to your Hub service.
Provide information and reports to Registered Managers on the performance and development of services and PWS
This role also includes providing on-call in the first line of advice, support, and actions in the 24hr on-call service on a regional rota.

The Orchard is an extra care provision currently supporting 7 people. The people we support at The Orchard all have varying support needs and all have tailor-made support built around their needs. All of the people we support have individual packages of support and access to extra care support for emergency situations. The position would include working on shift with the team to demonstrate good practice and leadership to the team and to work with the individuals to get to know them and to continuing to develop the service to be outstanding and to deliver meaningful outcomes to the people who live at The Orchard. The hub leaders will work with the existing team to develop a culture that is positive, open and transparent and will enable the staff to support he individuals to the best of their abilities.
About You:
Comfortable to sit quietly and use compassionate and considerate techniques to engage people we support in activities.
Passion to live-life and lead more than a safe existence.
Naturally curious about neurodiverse human behaviour
Non-judgemental and focuses more on why something happened opposed to what happened.
A confident leader from the front, back and centre of their team, depending on circumstances.
Able to investigate, hear all perspectives, analyse information, and develop and adapt ways of working.
Thrive on working closely with family, wider networks, and your colleagues, collaborating and coproducing with the expertise of others to enable a holistic, truly person-led service.
For occupational requirement reasons we are looking to appoint a female only for this post (exemption under the Equality Act 2010 Part 1 Schedule 9).
