Primary SEN Teacher - September 2025 Start
Location: Lewisham, South East London

Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term to Permanent
Daily Rate: £210-£270
A welcoming and inclusive SEN school in Lewisham is seeking a passionate Primary SEN Teacher to join its team this September. This is a long-term opportunity with the potential to go permanent, offering the chance to make a meaningful impact in a setting where pupil wellbeing, independence, and inclusion are central to everything they do.
The Role:
You'll lead a small Key Stage 2 class of 9 pupils, supported by two experienced Teaching Assistants. Pupils present with a range of needs including Autism, speech and language challenges, and behavioural difficulties. Your role will include both academic and pastoral responsibilities, including contributions to EHCPs and close collaboration with families and therapists.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons
- Creating a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment
- Using strategies like Makaton, PECS, and sensory-based learning
- Supporting emotional literacy and physical wellbeing
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team and contributing to CPD
Who We're Looking For:
- QTS (essential)
- Experience in UK Primary settings, ideally with SEN learners
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Knowledge of Autism, speech and language strategies, and communication tools (Makaton/PECS/ABA - desirable)
- A nurturing, reflective, and proactive teaching approach
