Job Title: Class 2 Driver – Waste Management
Location: Hitchin
Salary: £17-£18 per hour (depending on experience)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Start Date: 18/8/25
About the Role:
We’re currently recruiting a reliable and experienced Class 2 (Category C) Driver to join a leading waste management company based in Hitchin. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified driver to work with a professional and growing team, helping to keep the local environment clean and sustainable.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely operate a Class 2 vehicle for the collection, transport, and delivery of Liquid waste haulage, cesspit and septic tank emptying.
Carry out pre-vehicle checks and ensure vehicles are maintained to a high standard
Complete all necessary paperwork accurately
Maintain high standards of health and safety at all times
Deliver excellent customer service during collections
Requirements:
Valid Class 2 (Category C) driving licence
Valid CPC (IS DESIRABLE NOT ESSENTIAL) and Digital Tachograph Card
Previous experience in waste management or similar sector preferred but not essential
Good communication and time-management skills
Physically fit and able to carry out manual handling when required
