We have a fantastic opportunity for a registered Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist tolead oursmallergonomics team on aone yearcontract
Our ergonomics service aims to reduce and prevent musculoskeletal injuries within our staff group andsit as part of the wider Health and Wellbeing Service. This role is an excellent opportunity to impact and influence staff wellbeing and direct patient care.
You will deliver manual handling education and training for all levels of staffandprovidespecialist manual handling advice and support to clinical and non-clinical teamsas well as conducting ergonomic assessments for staff. In addition to this, you will lead the team, making improvements to processes and leading on policy updates.
This role is a full time Band7SeniorErgonomic Advisor (Manual Handling Advisor). The office base for the role is at St Marks Hospital but you will be travelling across our Berkshire Healthcare sites and there is some flexibility to work from home when the service allows.

• Lead the ergonomics team
• Deliver evidenced based moving and handling training and education.
• Undertake individualised employee assessments on ergonomics and manual handling both virtually and face to face.
• Perform individualised risk assessments for patients with complex moving and handling needs.
• Undertaking advanced assessment of difficult and complex workplace issues. Subsequently, implement appropriate and evidence-based equipment provision,in order toreduce the risk of harm to patients, theircarer’sand staff.
• Assist with risk management, includingdatixincident management support and policy development.
• Promote health and wellbeing for trust employees.

The “must haves” for this role:
• You will be aregistered health professional(e.g. nurse, OT, physiotherapist) withpost-registration experience in a clinical setting.
• You must have knowledge of the principles of safe manual handling and ergonomics know how to apply these within a healthcare environment.
• Training is a key component of the role and previous experience of teaching or training delivery is highly desirable.
• You will work autonomously and must be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to influence and motivate others, and possess good planning and organisational skills.
• A manual handling and ergonomic qualificationisdesirable however, support to complete a relevant qualification will be provided if required.
