Crynodeb

The Searchlight Group, operating The Light Cinemas, Light Entertainment, and All Star Lanes, is seeking a Leisure Technical Manager.

The Technical Manager Leisure will be responsible for the smooth and reliable operation of all technically driven leisure activities (excluding activities with no technical component, e.g. climbing). This role covers the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all mechanical, electronic, and software systems required to run leisure attractions, working closely with suppliers, contractors, and internal teams to ensure minimal downtime and exceptional guest experiences.

The role also supports the development and rollout of new and existing projects, ensuring they meet operational, safety, and performance standards from concept to delivery. Due to the nature of the position, the successful candidate must be available to respond to urgent issues outside standard working hours, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, on a shared on-call rota.

As our business expands into new venues, this role will be pivotal in driving technical excellence across multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities

- Install, commission, and maintain leisure equipment across all sites, working directly with suppliers to ensure correct setup and optimal performance.
- Diagnose and resolve complex hardware, software, and mechanical faults relating to leisure activities, control systems, and POS infrastructure.
- Deliver and integrate new technologies (hardware and software) in alignment with the company's strategic goals and operational requirements.
- Develop and implement a fault reporting and tracking system, working with IT and - Operations to ensure timely resolution and accurate reporting at agreed intervals.
- Proactively monitor and service leisure equipment to minimise downtime, maintaining performance above agreed operational benchmarks.
- Achieve and sustain downtime targets and ensure Net Promoter Score (NPS) for leisure visits remains above 60.
- Maintain full Health & Safety compliance for all technical operations, including documentation, audits, and regulatory adherence.
- Conduct scheduled technical audits and preventive maintenance visits, producing detailed reports and recommending improvements.
- Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), technical documentation, and troubleshooting guides for each activity.
- Support and train relevant staff to operate, troubleshoot, and perform basic repairs on leisure equipment.
- Manage supplier and contractor relationships, ensuring work is completed within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Participate in a rotating on-call support schedule, providing rapid response to urgent issues.

About You

- Proven track record in the repair, maintenance, and optimisation of technical systems in a leisure, attractions, or customer-facing environment.
- Strong knowledge of software and control systems used in leisure/entertainment settings.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills, with a methodical and proactive approach to resolving technical issues.
- Highly organized, capable of managing multiple projects across multiple locations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Full UK driving license is essential for this role
- willingness to travel across UK
