What this job involves: The Commercial Manager is responsible for consistently delivering quality contracts, negotiating the terms and conditions with customers and prospective customers and implementing a continuous improvement process that ensures that the contract templates are current and reflect terms that protect the company’s interests. These key activities require cross-functional alignment among the key internal stakeholders whilst ensuring compliance with all CHAMP policies and procedures. The Commercial Manager will be responsible for reporting and improving on key metrics as provided by leadership.

What your day-to-day will look like:

• Making use of CHAMP’s contract templates, generating specific contracts or amendments for customers and prospective customers.
• Amend/propose contractual wording or new contract template for customized or new services in alignment with CHAMP Legal.
• Working closely with CHAMP’s sales lead or executive management, Legal and internal stakeholders, effectively leading the coordination of contract pack across the internal stakeholders.
• Lead the negotiation of the terms & conditions, including SLAs, with the prospective customers ensuring that the company interests are protected.
• Lead and coordinate the different business stakeholders through the management of the different contract stages.
• Align with CHAMP Legal to ensure that the contracts adhere to both CHAMP’s and SITA’s legal standards.
• Drive continuous contract management improvements through processes as well identifying areas for automation.

Position Type: Permanent Full Time
Location: Reading, UK – Hybrid

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• 3–5 years prior experience in supply chain procurement, negotiations, finance contract/program management, or related fields
• A reasonable understanding of UK basic contract law
• Airline, air cargo or logistics experience, especially in procurement would be an advantage
• High level of critical thinking, problem solving, and ability to work autonomously
• Able to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
• Highly collaborative with strong interpersonal skills and track record of excellent internal and external customer service
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally
• Proficient skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint and Outlook)

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
• Must have a high standard of written and spoken English
• Other languages would be an advantage

The selected candidate may be subject to the provision of an up-to-date (not older than 3 months) criminal record certificate.


Security: the successful candidate will have to comply with CHAMP Security Requirements (including but not limited to CHAMP’s IT Security Policies, especially the ISMS Policy and the Acceptable Use Policy, mandatory courses, confidentiality and data protection, use of company assets, and incident reporting).
