We are seeking a compassionate, motivated and highly organised Volunteer Manager to join our team and play a vital role in expanding the reach and impact of our services. This pivotal role will support the growth of our dementia support, adult carer and young carer services. You will do this by building volunteer capacity that reflects the diversity and needs of our community.
Working collaboratively across all service areas, the Volunteer Manager will recruit, train and support a diverse team of volunteers, ensuring they feel confident, equipped and valued in their roles. Volunteers will contribute to a variety of activities, including peer support, group facilitation, young carer youth clubs and community events.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop and implement effective strategies for volunteer recruitment, induction, training and retention.
• Build inclusive volunteer pathways, ensuring that individuals from a wide range of backgrounds can engage in meaningful roles.
• Match volunteers to appropriate roles that align with their skills, interests and availability.
• Provide ongoing support, supervision, and recognition to ensure a rewarding volunteer experience.
• Work closely with service leads to identify opportunities where volunteers can enhance and extend service delivery.
• Ensure training is delivered in accordance with policies and need.
• Maintain up-to-date volunteer records and contribute to monitoring and evaluation efforts. Develop a specific focus on demonstrating the impact of the volunteers on each service.
• Foster a positive, inclusive volunteer culture that supports well-being, learning and community engagement.
• Ensure volunteer involvement aligns with the values and strategic aims of the organisation.

About you
Essential Criteria
• Experience in volunteer management or coordination within a charity, health, or community setting.
• Demonstrated ability to collect and analyse volunteer data to monitor engagement, report on impact, and support continuous improvement and service development.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage, motivate, and support a diverse range of people.
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
• A clear understanding of the value and impact of volunteering within community services.
• An understanding of safeguarding principles and the ability to work within organisational policies to ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
• A commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, and the ability to create welcoming, accessible opportunities for all.
• Willingness to work flexibly across different locations and services as required.

Desirable Criteria
• Knowledge of the challenges faced by unpaid carers and people living with dementia.
• Familiarity with the services, community needs, and voluntary sector landscape in Buckinghamshire.
• Experience of training, supervising, or supporting others (staff or volunteers).
• Familiarity with volunteer management systems or databases.
Why join us?
This is an exciting time to join our organisation as we enter the next phase of our development — expanding our services, deepening our community connections, and strengthening the way we work with volunteers.
By becoming part of our team, you will:
• Play a key role in shaping our future: You’ll lead the growth of a volunteer programme that is central to how we deliver support and build community resilience. This is your chance to contribute to a new and ambitious phase in our journey.
• Make a lasting impact: Your work will directly support unpaid carers and individuals living with dementia, helping to reduce isolation, promote wellbeing, and improve access to support.
• Be part of a supportive, passionate team: You'll collaborate with dedicated colleagues who are committed to making a difference and supporting one another.
• Access opportunities for growth: We’ll support your professional development with training, learning opportunities, and the chance to shape a growing area of work.

• If you're seeking a role where your contributions are recognised, your work drives real impact, and you can help shape something meaningful — we’d love to connect with you.

Employee Benefits Include:
• 25 days annual leave + Bank Holidays (increases with length of service)
• 3x Christmas Closure Days
• Up to 5 days paid Carers Leave
• Regular training and development opportunities
