The Governing Body is seeking to appoint a caring and committed Wellbeing and Pastoral Support Officer to work within our pastoral team. We are looking for a well-organised and empathetic individual with experience of working with young people to support their wellbeing and allow them to succeed academically. The role will involve working with pupils and families on a day-to-day basis to ensure that they attend regularly and are engaging positively with their learning. This will include liaising with relevant outside agencies and producing progress and engagement reports a required. There will also be some admin duties as necessary. The successful candidate will also be responsible for undertaking some first aid duties.
West Monmouth is an 11-16 mixed comprehensive school serving Pontypool and the surrounding area. West Monmouth has an excellent reputation within its community for both academic results and pastoral care and many pupils from outside our traditional catchment area have chosen to join us in recent years.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. A comprehensive screening process will be undertaken on all applicants which will include an Enhanced check with the Disclosure and Barring Service.
