This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced registered nurse to help University Hospital Tees undertake a successful flu vaccination campaign and achieve optimal staff uptake.

The role requires an understanding of the importance of the need for vaccination with the ability to organise and deliver vaccines across the organisation.

The successful applicant will be offered a flexible up to 37.5hour, Band 5 temporary contract/ secondment for either a 3-month secondment or a fixed term contract from October to December. The successful candidate will be expected to travel to all sites in the Trust, including community services, to provide support 7 days a week covering all shift patterns as required to ensure timely delivery of the flu campaign to all frontline staff .

To be an active member of the multidisciplinary team, using professional judgement and assuming responsibility and accountability, when undertaking the day-to-day delivery of the University Hospital Tees Flu Immunisation Programme.



The post holder will deliver vaccinations alongside supporting the Trusts flu champions, to ensure that a safe, effective and high-quality service is provided to the staff of University Hospital Tees.

The post holder must be able to work to appropriate Trust policies, guidelines, SOPS and Patient Group Immunisation Directives (PGD) and Written Instructions.

To liaise with all trust collaborative’s; ensuring that areas of low vaccine uptake are targeted and that all frontline staff have equal access.

Use excellent communication and negotiation skills to promote the vaccine and allay any staff worries.

Manage and escalate as appropriate day to day concerns including vaccine supply issues, IPC or safety concerns.

To record the number of vaccines delivered and provide feedback to management
