Fines Officer

Location: Birmingham, B4 6QA
Hours: Full Time, Monday to Friday, 9-5 (flexibility required)
Pay: £12.36 per hour, increasing to £12.53 after 12 weeks
Contract: Until September 2025, with potential for extension
Working Pattern: Initially fully onsite. Once trained, hybrid working (one week in the office, one week from home)

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for a Fines Officer to join a respected government department in Birmingham. This is a fantastic opportunity to build experience in the public sector within a supportive and structured environment. Full training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities
  • Handling inbound calls and responding to challenging queries

  • Processing administrative tasks including correspondence, write-offs, reports, and account checks

  • Reviewing and managing enforcement cases

  • Maintaining accurate records using in-house systems

  • Supporting general enforcement work

What We're Looking For
  • Previous administration experience

  • Strong customer service skills

  • Good attention to detail and the ability to handle sensitive or challenging queries professionally

  • Willingness to learn and follow processes carefully

Please note: Full in-house training will be provided.

Additional Requirements
  • Ability to provide three years of referencing information

  • Willingness to undergo a Standard DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check through Brook Street
