Position Description

As Head Teacher, you will lead and inspire a dedicated team, promoting professional growth and high standards. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading a student-centred approach, ensuring all students receive tailored support.

  • Strategically developing the curriculum to promote academic achievement, personal growth, and life skills.

  • Building strong relationships with parents, carers, and the wider community.

  • Advocating for students with special educational needs, promoting awareness and best practices.

  • Managing resources effectively to create a safe and inclusive environment.

  • Driving continuous improvement through data and feedback.

  • Developing staff through training and coaching to improve engagement.

Requirements

We are seeking a candidate with:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and substantial experience in a senior leadership role.

  • Experience working with young people with special educational needs and/or challenging behaviour.

  • Strong leadership and people management skills.

  • A strategic mindset to balance educational vision with operational demands.

  • Excellent relationship-building skills.

  • Further qualifications in educational leadership or special educational needs are desirable.

Experience & Skills

  • Experience: Substantial senior leadership experience in an alternative provision setting.

  • Skills: Strong leadership, strategic thinking, professional knowledge of special educational needs, and alternative provision.

  • Qualification: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is required.
