Salary: £26,337 - £28,835
Hours: 36 per week, 52 weeks

As a housing assistant within the Rent Escalation Team, you will be working within the Localities across the city supporting the housing officers who will be managing rent arrears cases in court, ensuring tenants receive the advice and support they need to repay their arrears and maintain regular rent and service charge payments.

The team will also be responsible for the management of Universal Credit (UC) including housing cost verifications, housing cost issues/missing payments, contacting tenants to discuss new claims, Discretionary Housing Payment entitlement and ensuring complex UC queries are escalated to DWP management.

Additionally, we will be responsible for processing and decision making of applications for the Tenant Hardship Fund and ensuring payment of awards to the rent account.

As part of the Rent Escalation Team, we will also be responsible for former tenancy arrears where we will contact our former tenants and arrange suitable repayment options.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
