and a large partner in Scotland’s newest University, the University of the Highlands
and Islands.
As a member of the Student Services team, and working closely with a range of
colleagues across UHI Perth, you will be responsible for co-ordinating the
provision of appropriate support to students who have additional support needs
within a mental health context. This includes those with social communication
conditions and emotional and behavioural difficulties. You will also offer support
provision for any student who presents with emotional distress or in crisis.
The ideal candidate will have experience of working in the provision of information,
advice, and guidance, preferably in an education or training setting, and experience
of working with people who have additional support needs. You should be confident
in using digital tools, well-organised, and experienced in administrative tasks. You
should also be familiar with and have an understanding of assistive technology and
support relating to mental health.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, coupled with relevant qualifications at degree level are essential. A recognised counselling qualification would also be advantageous as would the PDA Inclusiveness (formerly known as BRITE Level 4).
