Summary

Assistant Support Worker - Culverton Court (£24,570pa)About the RoleWe currently have an opportunity for a full time (37.5 hours per week) Assistant Support Worker to work within our supported living service, Culverton Court, in Princes Risborough.Culverton Court is a property consisting of 24 purpose built one-bedroom flats. The scheme was purpose built to provide support for individuals living with a mental illness. It is located in the small town of Princes Risborough in Buckinghamshire, which provides access to many community opportunities for the people we support in order to develop individual personal goals. With the support of the staff that are located onsite 24/7, a plan is created considering a trauma informed and psychologically informed environment (PIE).As an Assistant Support Worker you will.Provide appropriate support to service users who are living in their own homes in a supported housing setting to encourage their aspirations and maximise their independence.Your role will involve promoting life skills such as shopping, managing budgets and supporting with domestic tasks such as cooking and cleaning.Build long lasting support relationships with people who will benefit from you "being the difference".Follow agreed support plans and risk assessments to ensure that we are providing a service that meets each individual`s needs.About You:You do not need sector experience as we provide a structured induction, comprehensive training and on the job support to enable you to excel within your role and you will have the opportunity to gain an accredited vocational qualification, as well as gain experience and exposure to the wider care support Hightown offers.We are looking for passionate people who care about others and have a can-do, common-sense attitude to their life and who are driven by the desire to make a difference to real lives. You will have the ability to recognise the wishes and needs of vulnerable adults and communicate effectively using different methods according to people’s needs.It is important that you understand that the role involves working with adults that may have experienced past trauma. You will be lone working on occasions and will have the responsibility of monitoring and reporting on an individual’s wellbeing.
