A Vacancy at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Children’s Therapy Team at St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust for the position of Highly Specialised Community Paediatric Physiotherapist in a split role based between St George’s Hospital sites and Greenmead School.
Due to relocation of the current post holder the Children's Therapy Team is recruiting, and this post will be integral in the delivery of quality services to Children / Young People attending specialist outpatient appointments and accessing community and education based services.
The successful candidate will have skills and experience in assessment, management of this varied and complex caseload. They will work closely with the wider Children’s Therapy Team including colleagues across four AHP professions in children's services, Consultants, Specialist Medical Teams, Nurse Specialists, Nursing Staff, other members of the MDT, and education colleagues in early years settings and schools in Wandsworth. to provide a multi-disciplinary approach.
They will have experience in the following clinical areas:
• Special Educational Needs Setting
• Community Children's Physiotherapy
• Orthotics
• Assessment and provision of specialist positioning and mobility equipment
Greenmead Primary School is a special needs school, rated outstanding by Ofsted. The school provides a high quality educational experience for children with additional needs aged 2-11 years. A friendly and experienced team of therapists are based at the school, including Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists and Therapy Assistants. The therapists and school staff work closely together to provide an integrated educational and therapeutic model to meet the needs of each pupil. Children attending the school present with a wide range of conditions and functional abilities, including those with complex physical disabilities.
