Contracts Manager / Estimator – Structural & Architectural Steelwork
Location: Letchworth, Hertfordshire
Employment Type: Full-Time

We are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager / Estimator with a proven track record in structural and architectural steelwork to join our growing team in Letchworth.

In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate, competitive cost estimates for a diverse range of commercial and residential steelwork projects, from new builds to complex refurbishments. You will work closely with clients, architects, and engineers, interpreting technical drawings and ensuring projects meet both specification and budget.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare precise and competitive cost estimates for structural and architectural steelwork projects.

Review, interpret, and work from technical drawings, plans, and specifications.

Monitor project costs to ensure profitability and adherence to budget.

Support bid preparation, submission, and contract negotiations.

Liaise effectively with clients, architects, and engineers to ensure requirements are met.

About You
Proven experience as an estimator within the steel industry.

Strong technical knowledge of structural and architectural steelwork.

Proficiency with relevant estimating software and tools.

Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and Bills of Quantities.

Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Strong communication and leadership abilities, with the confidence to engage with clients and manage teams.

Proactive, results-driven approach with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

Relevant construction-related qualification (preferred but not essential).
