Job Description
We are looking for a Teaching Assistant with a trauma speciality to join our dedicated educational team in Doncaster, Yorkshire. This is a rewarding opportunity to work with young people aged 14 - 16 years who have experienced trauma, emotional distress, and barriers to education.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support that is trauma-informed, nurturing, and focused on both academic and emotional progress. You will work alongside teachers and support staff to ensure that every learner in Doncaster, Yorkshire receives the care, understanding, and encouragement they need to thrive.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver one-to-one and small group interventions for learners with trauma backgrounds
Support classroom activities, adapting materials for individual needs
Assist with emotional regulation, behaviour management, and resilience building
Encourage social, emotional, and academic development in a safe and supportive environment
Collaborate with staff and external professionals to ensure holistic support for students in Doncaster, Yorkshire
Requirements
Experience working with young people affected by trauma or adverse childhood experiences
Knowledge of trauma-informed practices and behaviour support strategies
Empathy, adaptability, and resilience
Strong communication and teamwork skills
