Summary
The post holders will help provide a specialist paediatric ENT service within the department. It is a 10.625 PA post. The post holders will strive to ensure that the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust maintains and improves its standing nationally and delivers high quality patient care within the framework of the NHS. The ENT consultant post will offer an opportunity to work flexibly within the ENT department at Leeds Teaching Hospitals across the Trust, with the main base being Leeds General Infirmary, although there may be a requirement to work at Wharfedale Hospital and St James Hospital. Adequate travel time will be allocated for any clinical activity at a different site to the base hospital (Leeds General Infirmary). This will require a commitment to close teamwork, so as to be able to offer timely interventions for patients. As well as having fixed clinic and theatre sessions, the post holder will cover clinic and theatre sessions, made vacant by colleagues' leave. This will allow a more efficient use of theatre and clinic space. ENT have a dedicated ward, L23, based in Jubilee Wing, and have use of the Paediatric wards, L49 & CSAL, in Clarendon Wing. Adult theatres are based mainly in Jubilee Wing, but ENT operating is also completed in Gilbert Scott theatre suite and Wharfedale Hospital. Paediatric Operating takes place in Clarendon Wing theatre suite. For all Theatre lists, time is allocated in the job plan for Pre & Post operative ward rounds.
