Please note: In regards to the location, this role will be based in the Cannock Chase district working with the two corps based in Cannock and Hednesford.This is a fixed term position for 3 years - ending 30th September 2028Working hours: 35 hours per weekInterview Date: Wednesday 17th September 2025The Community Mission Facilitator will be responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of Community programmes at Cannock and Hednesford Corps and the outreach to the local community to fulfil the aims of the Mission Development Plan. The successful applicant will help us in our mission to serve the communities within the Cannock Chase district. This role will support and develop our existing Christ-centred community programmes of a Friendship café (Hednesford) and a coffee drop-in (Cannock) ensuring they are effective responses to the issues that are affecting the vulnerable members of our communities.Key responsibilities for the role include:Supporting the successful delivery of mission with responsibility for the operational day to day management of existing community programmes; including the Friendship café and coffee drop-inAssist the Corps Officer by facilitating the weekly programme activities for both Cannock and Hednesford Corps including the coffee drop - in and Friendship café; ensuring that rooms are ready for use and that all attending are made to feel welcome and includedIn consultation with the Corps Officer, develop effective working partnerships with internal mission development teams to ensure programmes are designed and implemented in alignment with organisational and best practice principlesIn partnership with the CO, establish links to the community and any relevant external agencies to maximise the effective delivery of programmes to the communityThe successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop effective working relationships with colleagues, programme participants and external stakeholdersStrong previous experience and up to date knowledge of developing and implementing successful community programmes for a diverse range of participantsExperience of working with different age groups, cultures, and nationalities and a particular passion for working with the marginalised and poorest members of society, and seeing a community working and engaging togetherThe ability and willingness to support the fulfilment of the spiritual aims of the programme, showing compassion and understanding to all programme participants and be willing to support an individual’s spiritual needsYou may have:A recognised qualification in Christian MinistryExperience of managing and working with employees/volunteersExperience of funding and grant application processesThis role has an occupational requirement that the successful candidate must be a committed and practising Christian and will be in sympathy with the doctrines of, and supportive of, the purposes and the aims and objectives of The Salvation Army.
