We have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance & Aesthetics Manager to join our team at Coleg Plas Dwbl, located in Pembrokeshire, and at Ty'r Eithin, a satellite site of Coleg Plas Dwbl, based in Carmarthenshire. Additionally, we operate several residential houses in various community settings where our students live.

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring that the College and its sites are maintained to a standard that complies with all internal and external legal requirements and that the College and its sites provide a safe working environment for students and staff, tenants and their employees, and visitors to the site. The maintenance manager will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of the buildings, fixtures and fittings at all Trust sites across Pembrokeshire/Carmarthenshire.

Applicants must have excellent practical skills and a clean full driver’s licence. You must be willing to work flexibly, travelling between the sites and residential houses which are situated in different areas of the county.

The core working hours will be daytime during the week, however, the Maintenance Manager may occasionally be required to respond to emergency evening and weekend call-outs where necessary.

The key duties of this role will include:
• Carrying out all aspects of site maintenance and repairs with the exception of gas and electrical works(unless qualified)
• Assembling and carrying out repairs to office and domestic furniture
• Carrying out basic landscaping/outdoor maintenance
• Visiting local merchants to obtain materials as required
• Responding to emergency call outs possibly in the evenings and at weekends
• Some caretaking duties
• Co-ordinate the work of self-employed contractors who are working at the College and its sites
The criteria required to undertake this position successfully include:
• Experience and practical skills in property maintenance and Health and Safety
• Ability to solve problems using their own initiative
• Experience of carrying out a varied workload ensuring completion of tasks within strict deadlines
• Having a driving licence as you will be required to drive from site to site within the Pembrokeshire/Carmarthenshire area.
• Experience of working in a building maintenance or caretaking role with DIY skills
• Trade background and experience of repairing school, office or residential buildings would be desirable although not essential
• Experience of working in a similar type of organisation or with young people/people with learning disabilities would be advantageous
