Main Responsibilities and Duties
1. Manage the telephone sales activity to ensure that accounts are managed effectively, make calls in CRM, diary on a daily basis.
2. Maintain and develop the existing and prospect customer database in conjunction with Head of Independent Sales and the Business Development Managers to achieve and exceed targets.
3. Carry out telephone sales activities and promotions to agreed sales volumes and timescales upselling and cross selling at every opportunity.
4. Record weekly sales calls and values on record sheet.
5. Input orders onto Sage 200 and comments on CRM as required.
6. Continually move low dated and discontinued stock through.
7. Maintain and develop new customers through planned individual account support together with the Head of Independent Sales and Business Development Managers.
8. Undertake promotions, highlight new and focus products to increase and maximise sales of Bay Tree and partner products.
9. Gather feedback re New Product Development/packaging/potential partner brands, competitions etc.
10. Attend training to develop knowledge and skills.
11. Attend exhibitions and other public functions to maintain and enhance The Bay Tree’s presence within the market place.
12. To undertake any other duties as may be required within the scope of the post and carry out holiday cover for other members of the team.
Facts and Figures
The post holder will be responsible for customer care, telephone sales and customer accounts in association with the Head of Independent Sales and the Business Development Managers.
The role requires flexibility, adaptability. All employees of the company need to be aware that they may be asked to perform tasks and be given responsibilities not detailed on this job description.

It is essential that the post holder will be able to manage their own time, work on own initiative and be able to prioritise.

The post holder is required to be self-motivated and able to work without supervision as part of a successful team with an enthusiastic can do attitude, be prepared to share ideas and have an eye for detail.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
It is essential that the post holder:
Has a background in sales, customer service or sales administration
Has the ability to communicate calmly, politely and effectively face to face, written and over the telephone
Understands the basic principles of sales and marketing
Is adept in the use of MS Office 2000 or later, particularly excel and word
Be self motivated, reliable and enthusiastic
Have a full driving licence with unlimited access to a suitable vehicle on a daily basis
It is desirable that the post holder:
Has knowledge of the speciality and fine food industry
Has comprehensive experience of using Sage 200 and CRM or similar database
Can demonstrate success and experience managing a variety of accounts and customers and have achieved genuine sales development
Is able to understand simple financial reports and is competent at compiling correspondence
