• The primary focus of the post is to ensure that the Trust provides high quality patient centred care.
• The practitioner will act as an advocate for patients.
• The practitioner will provide clinical leadership for Ground Floor Theatres.
• The practitioner must be vastly experienced, highly motivated with a passion for driving the service forward demonstrating and leading patient focused evidence based practice at all times.
• The practitioner will be responsible for their own professional conduct in line with NMC/HPC Code of Conduct. They will adhere to and understand all Trust & local policies and procedures
Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report, from either their current UK occupational health provider or their UK GP.
• Assess, plan, implement, monitor and evaluate the peri-operative care of patients using specialist knowledge and skills.
• Acknowledge personal preferences, rights and choice of patients undergoing surgery.
• Maintain health, safety and the control of infection in clinical work areas in line with Trust policies and procedures.
• Store, prepare and administer prescribed drugs to patients, and monitor the effects of drugs on patients in line with Trust policies.
• Prepare, monitor and maintain materials and equipment for clinical procedures, take action if found to be faulty.
• Support, monitor and care for patients during clinical procedures.
• Contribute to treating patients during clinical emergencies.
• Receive, transfer and position patients for clinical procedures.
• Maintain accurate & legible records of care.

• Monitor theatre lists in a timely manner identifying and sourcing equipment as required.
• Provide all necessary equipment and materials for the list.
• Monitor all equipment used, take action if found to be faulty.
• Demonstrate extensive knowledge of operative procedures/departmental procedures.
• Demonstrate budgetary control, ordering and supplying materials required within agreed budgets.
• Communicate effectively with other members of the theatre team and other clinical work areas.
• Acknowledge and value people’s roles within the team.
• Recognise own and others limitations within the team and take appropriate action.
• Provide required resources for anticipated workload.
• Manage the theatre teams to ensure effective & efficient use of funded theatre time.
• Participate in achieving the aims of the department/Trust.
