Highway and Transport – Enhancing Lives, Building Communities
Do you have an interest in Housing Repairs and Maintenance? The Housing Service Team is looking for a proactive and enthusiastic professional to undertake a pivotal role in delivering planned and reactive maintenance services across the council’s stock of housing.
As an Area Maintenance Surveyor, you will be at the forefront working with other Area Maintenance Surveyors delivering and improving both planned and reactive repairs. You will carry out the inspection of building defects to ensure the appropriate works are undertaken to ensure effective repair solutions, ensuring all regulations are complied with. Further responsibilities include monitoring performance by site visits, liaising and negotiating with contractors, clients, and other professionals to ensure contracts are delivered to time and cost constraints.
We are looking for a candidate with prior knowledge and experience of building repair, maintenance, and refurbishment, ideally in the social housing market, ensuring repairs are managed from start to finish. To be successful in this role, you will need to be adept at interpreting data and information, producing reports and monitoring information, and have the communications skills to engage with contractors, in-house surveyors, contract officers, and management.
