The Security Operations Center (SOC) is responsible for monitoring and analysing security events to identify, investigate, and respond to potential threats. The SOC Manager leads the SOC team within the MCA and provides expert threat intelligence and analysis, driving effective incident response, and ensuring the SOC's activities align with the organisation's overall security strategy. This role leads the SOC capability within the MCA, overseeing the team and its managed service partners, and collaborating with stakeholders to achieve a unified security posture.
Your responsibilities will include, but aren’t limited to:
Lead and conduct complex security investigations to identify root cause, scope, impact, and potential indicators of compromise (IOCs).Develop and implement advanced threat hunting strategies using cultivated threat intelligence feeds, advanced analytics, and threat modeling techniques.Analyze threat intelligence feeds from various sources to remain current on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and attacker tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs).Generate comprehensive security reports for senior management, summarizing security incidents, trends, risks, and recommendations for improvement.Manage the relationship with the outsourced MSSP, ensuring effective service delivery, alignment with overall security strategy, and clear communication of expectations and performance metrics.Oversee and manage the organisation's vulnerability management capability, including staff, scanning, prioritisation, remediation, reporting, and stakeholder escalation.Develop, review, and maintain security policies, playbooks and procedures for the SOC, ensuring alignment with organisational security strategy and best practices.Provide mentorship and guidance to junior SOC analysts and engineers, as well as providing technical assurance to the wider security team fostering a culture of continuous learning and skill development.Great line management is important to us as an organisation, and we will equip and support line managers to develop the skills they need.
