• Supportive Team & Career Development – Be part of a friendly, experienced team with funding available for CPD and further qualifications
Are you an experienced Small Animal Vet looking to join a passionate, friendly, and award-winning team in beautiful Northumberland?
My client is a long-standing, independent, family-owned veterinary group with three thriving practices across the region. For over 20 years, they’ve delivered expert, bespoke care to pets (and occasionally, chickens, owls, and even wallabies!)—earning the trust of their clients and multiple industry accolades along the way.
Due to a valued Veterinary Surgeon leaving in September, they’re on the lookout for a dedicated, confident, and experienced vet to join their supportive, close-knit team.
Why Join This Practice?
• Independent & Family-Owned: No corporate ties – just a passionate team doing what they love.
• Award-Winning Team:
o Petplan Veterinary Nurse of the Year 2022
o Veterinary Receptionist of the Year 2020
o Multiple Petplan award finalists
• RCVS Accredited & ISFM Cat-Friendly: Two branches hold bronze ISFM status.
• Modern Facilities:
o Ultrasound (including visiting specialist)
o Digital x-ray, dental suite
o In-house lab, pharmacy
o Laparoscopic surgery available
• Fantastic Team: 7 vets (including an ophthalmology certificate holder), supported by experienced RVNs and admin staff.
The Role:
• Full-time preferred (4 days/week): Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday
• Consulting Hours: 8:30am–6pm (typically start around 7am)
• On-Call: 1 night per week (6pm–12am), 1 in 5 weekends (with nurse support)
• Location: Across all 3 practices – vehicle required
This role includes a mix of consults and surgeries. Sole charge is expected at times, so confidence in your clinical skills is essential (nurse support is always available, and an external vet advice service is on hand if needed).
CPD & Development:
Have a particular interest or want to pursue a certificate? They’ll support and fund CPD that benefits both you and the practice.
