Vacancy for an Architectural Technician
• Based in Brecon

AJN Design & Surveying Services Ltd is a multi-disciplined building consultancy based in Brecon South Wales covering planning, design building surveying, structural surveying, estimating and engineering services. The company was established in 2003 and has been quietly growing in recent years with our focus on customer satisfaction.
We require an Architectural Technician to provide technical support to clients and other construction professionals, turning design concepts into practical, buildable plans. The work is on projects from initial design to completion, focusing on the technical aspects of building design and construction. The responsibilities include creating design and technical drawings, preparing specifications, and ensuring compliance with building regulations.
Training will be provided where necessary and assistance is available for candidates in pursuing appropriate qualifications that can enhance their career.
Key Responsibilities:
• Developing Technical Designs:
Creating detailed drawings, models, and specifications using Revit CAD software and other tools, ensuring designs are practical and feasible.
• Producing Drawings and Documents:
Preparing various drawings, plans, and documents needed for construction, including those for statutory approvals.
• Ensuring Compliance:
Ensuring designs comply with building regulations, codes, and standards.
• Managing Information:
Organizing and managing technical data, including specifications and materials information.
• Liaising with Stakeholders:
Communicating with clients, contractors, and other professionals to ensure smooth project progression.
• Project Management Support:
Assisting with project management tasks, such as budget monitoring and timeline management.
• Building Performance Analysis:
Analyzing the environmental performance of buildings and suggesting solutions for energy efficiency.
• Staying Up-to-Date:
Researching new design processes, building legislation, and technologies.
Essential Skills:
• Technical Proficiency: Good learner, CAD skills and a good understanding of building processes.
• Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail in creating accurate and comprehensive drawings and documentation.
• Communication Skills: Effective communication skills to interact with various stakeholders.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and solve technical problems during the design and construction phases.
• Organization and Planning: Strong organizational and planning skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Adaptability: Ability to adapt to new technologies and design processes.
