Accounts Assistant – Automotive Sector
Location: Stockport
Salary: From £24,180 per year
Job Type: Full-time, Temp – Perm
We are looking for an organised, detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our client based in Stockport on a temp to perm basis. The ideal candidate will support the Accounts Department in managing daily accounting tasks, including maintaining financial records, processing invoices, and assisting with reconciliations.
Key Responsibilities:
The main duties of this Accounts Assistant role will include
Invoice Processing: Process purchase invoices, sales invoices, and credit notes, ensuring timely and accurate entry into the accounting system.
Bank Reconciliation: Assist in reconciling bank accounts, ensuring all transactions are recorded and discrepancies are resolved.
Payments: Process and manage payments to suppliers and reconcile supplier statements to ensure accounts are up to date.
Reporting: Generate financial reports, such as sales and expense reports, and assist with ad hoc financial analysis as requested by management.
Liaising with Departments: Work closely with sales, service, and parts teams to ensure accurate financial information and resolve any discrepancies.
Filing & Documentation: Maintain and update financial records, ensuring all documents are filed and stored correctly.
Daily Banking & Credit Control.
Key Skills & Experience:
Previous experience in an accounting role, ideally within the automotive or retail industry (preferred but not essential).
Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word).
Strong numerical and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
A proactive team player who can also work independently when required.
