Quantity Surveyor

We have an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join an established regional main contractor based in Reading. The business is privately owned and undertakes projects across a range of sectors including education, commercial, mixed-use residential, student accommodation and life sciences. With a busy forward order book and exciting schemes in the pipeline, they're looking to expand the commercial team with an additional Quantity Surveyor.

About the role of Quantity Surveyor:

As Quantity Surveyor, you will either manage your own project or work as number 2 to a Senior Quantity Surveyor dependent on your level and experience. Projects vary in value up to £30mil. You will be reporting into the senior leadership team, working collaboratively with site teams to ensure successful completion of projects.

Key Responsibilities as Quantity Surveyor:

  • Work alongside the pre-construction team through 2-stage tenders
  • Oversee the project's procurement / management of sub-contractor packages
  • Deal with final accounts / any dispute resolution that may arise
  • Report into Senior / Managing Surveyors

Key Requirements for this Quantity Surveyor role:

  • Hold a BSc Quantity Surveying or HNC
  • Have experience working on projects of a similar size and have worked for a main contractor
  • Be proficient in administering JCT forms of contract
  • Have the full right to work in the UK and be happy to commute to Reading / surrounding sites

In return you'll receive:

  • Salary: Up to £65k (dependent on experience)
  • Company car or car allowance
  • Healthy holiday allowance
  • Additional flexi benefits
  • Clear progression pathways

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business which is in a strong financial position and has a strong forward order book with a range of schemes in the region.
