The company:
A well-established regional contractor that focuses on refurbishments, structural alterations and reinstatement works.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the yard, storage areas, and loading zones.
- Load and unload deliveries using forklifts or other equipment (if licensed).
- Sort, store, and track materials and equipment appropriately.
- Inspect materials and equipment for damage or defects and report issues to supervisors.
- Assist with stock control, inventory, and order preparation.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and machinery safely and effectively.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety regulations.
- Provide support to other team members and departments as needed.
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance on yard equipment and tools.
- Assist with waste disposal and recycling efforts.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar yard, warehouse, or laboring role preferred.
- Forklift license (desirable or required depending on role).
- Physically fit and capable of performing manual labor.
- Strong awareness of workplace health and safety practices.
- Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
Work Environment:
- Outdoor and indoor working conditions in all weather.
- May involve heavy lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.
- Use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required.
