Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only
Hours: Full Time (36.5 hours per week)
Start Date: September 2025
We are advertising this opportunity on behalf of a local secondary school committed to promoting equity, inclusion, and high-quality support for all students.The school is seeking a passionate, empathetic, and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their pastoral team and provide individualised support to a student with physical disabilities as they begin their secondary education journey.
About the Role
This full-time position offers a chance to make a meaningful impact in a student's life by:
- Providing respectful assistance with mobility and personal care needs
- Supporting language development for students with English as an Additional Language (EAL)
- Collaborating with teaching and support staff to deliver personalised learning strategies
- Promoting independence and positive engagement across the school setting
Ideal Candidate
The school welcomes applicants from all backgrounds who:
- Have experience supporting children or young people with disabilities and/or EAL needs
- Are comfortable with personal care responsibilities, delivered with dignity and sensitivity
- Demonstrate patience, compassion, and a commitment to inclusive education
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, families, and students
- Hold a relevant teaching assistant qualification or degree (SEND training is helpful but not essential)
