An exciting opportunity has arisen within our service at the Hillingdon & Mount Vernon Hospital NHS Trust for an enthusiastic, flexible and motivated ODP/Anaesthetic Nurse to join our friendly dynamic hard-working theatre team.
The Hillingdon Hospital & Mount Vernon NHS Trust is a busy district general situated near to London’s Heathrow Airport. A diagnostic and treatment centre at Mount Vernon Hospital will provide day care and elective surgery for the Hillingdon area. This Treatment Centre will provide excellent learning and development opportunities for staff.

Our theatre suite at the Hillingdon & Mount Vernon sites comprises of 13 theatres and 2 recovery units. The specialities include robotics, orthopaedics/ trauma, gynaecology, urology, dental, pain, ophthalmic and general. This department has 24hour theatre provision including obstetrics.
A commitment to participate in shifts / on-calls / nights and weekends is essential.
1. To provide responsible and high quality patient care maintaining standards in accordance of agreed policies.
2. To provide skilled assistance as a member of the team in the operating
department and any other area of the Trust as required.
3. To maintain standards in accordance of agree policies, to achieve and
maintain a quality service.
4. To participate in the training programmes of operating department
practitioners and act as a facilitator/mentor for pre-registration and post
based nursing student in Theatre.
The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute hospital in the London Borough of Hillingdon and offers a wide range of services including accident and emergency, inpatient care, day surgery, outpatient clinics and maternity services. The Trust’s services at Mount Vernon Hospital include routine day surgery, delivered at a modern treatment centre, a minor injuries unit and outpatient clinics.

1. To provide assistance to anaesthetists and surgeons in the form of all
aspects of clinical work. This includes any cover that may be needed at the
Hillingdon Site ( obstetric Department, CT Scanner Room, MRI Scanner, ECT Suite, A & E Resus, CCU procedure room and any other areas)
2. To work directly with surgeons and anaesthetists in preparation and
delivery of all medical/surgical procedures undertaken in the anaesthetic
rooms/theatres.
3. To be responsible for the preparation of a safe environment to receive/treat patients within anaesthetic rooms/theatres.
