We are a busy, community-focused pharmacy dedicated to providing outstanding customer service, expert health advice, and a wide range of pharmacy services. Our team works in a fast-paced environment, serving a high volume of customers daily, while maintaining a friendly and professional atmosphere.

Role Overview:

We are looking for an experienced OTC Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be confident in providing healthcare advice, efficient at managing customer needs in a busy setting, and proactive in supporting both front-of-shop and pharmacy services.

Key Responsibilities:

Greet, assist, and advise customers on non-prescription medicines and healthcare products

Recommend suitable OTC products, referring customers to the pharmacist when necessary

Operate the till and process transactions accurately

Restock shelves, maintain product displays, and ensure pricing is up to date

Check and receive deliveries, rotating stock to reduce waste

Promote pharmacy services such as flu jabs, blood pressure checks, and travel vaccinations

Support the pharmacy team with administrative and customer service tasks

Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation in the shop area

Follow all pharmacy SOPs, health & safety, and confidentiality guideline
Requirements

Essential:

Proven experience working in a busy pharmacy or retail healthcare environment

Medicines Counter Assistant (MCA) qualification (or willingness to complete it)

Excellent customer service and communication skills

Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks at once

Positive, professional, and team-oriented attitude

Desirable:

Additional pharmacy qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services)

Familiarity with pharmacy PMR systems and stock control processes
