Job Title: HR Advisor

Pay rate: £19.81 - £21.65 per hour PAYE
Working Arrangement: Hybrid working – 2 or 3 days per week in the office
The role:
We are looking for a proactive HR Advisor to join the Human Resources team.
Reporting to the HR Operations Manager, you’ll be a key member of the HR function, delivering a broad range of generalist HR services.
You will provide expert advice to managers on HR policies and procedures, support HR Business Partners, and help implement corporate priorities.
You will ensure operational HR policies and procedures remain up to date with changes in employment legislation, developing user-friendly guidance and supporting line managers in their effective implementation.
Key responsibilities:
Leading HR casework within your area and acting as the first point of contact for HR queries
Advising managers on disciplinary and grievance matters, performance and capability issues, absence management, and probation or fixed-term contracts
Supporting colleague lifecycle processes, including onboarding, payroll, flexible working, and leavers
Assisting with queries received through the central HR inbox
Contributing to complex casework and change management initiatives alongside HR Business Partners
Reviewing and developing HR policies and procedures in line with employment law changes, ensuring supporting documentation is current and accessible
Interpreting HR data to monitor workforce trends and improve service delivery
Building strong relationships with managers through regular engagement, offering effective, policy-aligned HR solutions
Leading and supporting HR projects, including those linked to our People and Culture Improvement Programme
Keeping up to date with employment legislation and delivering relevant updates and training across the organisation
What the client is looking for:
CIPD Level 5 or equivalent HR qualification/experience
Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices, with hands-on experience in complex ER cases, including restructures, redundancies, and dismissals
Proven track record of delivering clear, consistent HR advice to managers at all levels, with the ability to coach and build capability
In-depth understanding of the full employee lifecycle
Proficient in using HR systems
Skilled in advising on HR policies and practices, ensuring effective implementation across teams
Experienced in designing and rolling out organisation-wide processes and guidance
Track record of leading successful HR projects, from planning to monitoring outcomes
Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable recommendations
Confident decision-maker, using sound judgement and established practices
Advanced IT skills, including MS Office; able to produce high-quality reports and presentations for all levels
Excellent written and verbal communicator, able to engage clearly with stakeholders at every level
Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on building positive, effective internal and external relationships
Skilled negotiator and influencer with a strategic mindset
