Are you passionate about helping children thrive both inside and outside the classroom?
We are seeking a compassionate, enthusiastic, and proactive Learning Mentor to join our dedicated team. This vital role supports children in overcoming barriers to learning, fostering their personal and academic development.
Key Responsibilities:
• Working with other staff in planning, evaluating and adjusting learningactivities as appropriate
• Supporting provision for pupils with special needs
• Developing 1:1 mentoring arrangements with pupils and provide support for distressed pupils
• Providing objective and accurate feedback and reports as required, to other staff on pupils achievement, progress and other matters
• Establishing constructive relationships with parents/carers, exchanging information facilitating their support for their child’s attendance
• Assisting in the development and implementation of appropriate behaviour management strategies
• Participating in comprehensive assessment of pupils to determine those in need of particular help
• Playing a leading role in safeguarding pupils including attending relevant meetings with all stakeholders and outside agencies and overseeing attendance.
• Staying up to date with all relevant training and statutory guidance
We are looking for someone who:
• Understands the principles of child development, learning processes and barriers to learning
• Has experience working with children or young people, ideally in an educational setting
• Understands safeguarding and child protection policies and legislation
• Can communicate clearly and empathetically with children and adults
• Is patient, flexible and solution-focused
• Has a recognised qualification or equivalent experience in child care development, behaviour, mentoring or similar
• Will be committed to supporting the Catholic ethos of the school
