Your role:

As Facilities Operations Manager, you’ll be at the heart of ensuring Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service’s estate runs like clockwork 24/7, 365 days a year. This is a dynamic and rewarding role where you will lead the operational delivery of facilities services across a diverse and critical property portfolio, supporting frontline blue light services that make a real difference to communities.

From managing reactive repairs and planned maintenance to driving compliance and service improvements, you’ll be the go-to person for keeping our estate safe, functional, and future-ready. You’ll work closely with internal teams, contractors, and key stakeholders to deliver high-performing, customer-focused outcomes. With opportunities to shape strategic improvements, lead a dedicated team and influence service delivery at scale, this is a role where your impact will be visible and valued.

About you:

You’re a confident leader with a passion for operational excellence and a sharp eye for detail. You bring proven experience in facilities management ideally within a public sector or regulated environment and thrive on juggling priorities, solving problems, and delivering results. You’re commercially savvy, compliance-conscious, and always looking for ways to improve efficiency and service quality.

You’re someone who leads with integrity, communicates with clarity, and builds strong relationships across all levels. You value teamwork, accountability, and high standards of customer care. You’re proactive, adaptable, and ready to roll up your sleeves when needed. If you’re driven by purpose and want to play a key role in supporting vital public services, we’d love to hear from you.
