The Role:

An opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic and committed individuals to join our Neighbourhood Services Team at Bolton Council.

‘This role is physically demanding and operates in all weather conditions 365 days of the year.’

You will work within neighbourhoods throughout the borough assisting with all aspects of street cleansing and grounds maintenance. We are particularly interested in individuals who have a passion for horticulture with experience of using hand tools for planting, weeding and other gardening tasks. As part of your role, you will also work alongside Environmental Enforcement Officers to help maintain a clean and tidy borough.

The team will also be involved in high profile events and activities hosted within the Borough throughout the year.

About You:

Neighbourhood Service sits within the Department of Place in the heart of Bolton. The services we provide are an essential service for both the community, businesses and visitors to Bolton. We work with local people to make lasting improvements where they’re most needed to develop Bolton to be a place where people choose to live, work and invest.

We listen to people and involve them in reshaping our services; this includes services such as cleaning our streets and grounds maintenance. We also work in partnership with other agencies such as the Police, to improve our local neighbourhoods and to provide local people and our communities with a voice to influence how our services are delivered.

We want to make a positive and lasting difference!

It is essential you can work and contribute as part of a team; however, on occasions you will work alone and will be expected to plan and organise daily tasks allocated to you.

As our service covers the full borough of Bolton, procession of good directional skills would be an advantage.

About Us:

This is your opportunity to join us at an exciting time as we have strong ambitions for the borough.
