Salary: circa £20,500- £23,500 (actual) dependant on experience
LGPS pension scheme, onsite nursery, onsite parking, cycle to work scheme and excellent staff wellbeingThe Governing Body are seeking to appoint two Learning Support Assistants to join our dynamic and successful department. We are proud to support over 70 students with Education, Health and Care Plans, one of the highest proportions of students with special needs in any mainstream school in the country. One position is for a pupil specific, one to one support, and the other is for general LS work, providing in class support to a range of pupils. The role will include: Providing 1:1 support to, and implementation of, small-group teaching/1:1 work/in-class support to students with special educational needs/disabilities. Working closely with learning support staff/teaching staff to assist in the inclusion and teaching of a student with special educational needs. Working closely with colleagues to contribute to the planning and delivery of pupil activities. Developing subject specific resources and materials to support learning both in and outside of the classroom. Attending relevant learning support/subject meetings as reasonably directed (i.e meetings which are relevant to this post).A sense of humour, bundles of patience and flexibility are essential along with the ability to work well within a team of LS staff. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with your own initiative are also essential.Applicants will need to have a good level of general educational qualifications. Induction, support and on-going training will be provided to ensure your success at our school.
