Peterborough Team Description The Trust has developed functional divisions for service provision and learning disability services are part of specialist services division. In this context the post holder will be working for the Peterborough part of the specialist division. Inpatient services comprise of 10 beds ( currently operating as 6 bedded unit) provided from Hollies The Cavell Centre in Peterborough. The inpatient service works on acute assessment and treatment model with well defined care pathways and was among the first few in the country to receive accreditation from the Royal College of Psychiatrists. Peterborough Learning Disability Team is based at Sand Martin House in Peterborough. Learning Disability Community Nurses, Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Social Care staff are based there. Learning Disability Mental Health Services get 60-70 new referrals in a year. The most common reasons for these referrals are; challenging behaviour, mental disorders and epilepsy. We also provide specialist diagnostic assessments for Dementia in the learning disability population.
