Job Description
Our after-school programme provides a safe, engaging, and fun environment where children can unwind, play, and learn after the school day ends.
As part of the Active Care team, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality childcare, leading creative and active sports sessions, and fostering a positive, supportive atmosphere in one of our after-school club settings.

First Step Sports Group is a leading physical activity & training provider, collaborating with schools, local authorities, community groups, businesses, and individuals across the North of England.
Based in Yorkshire, with an expanding network of experienced team members located across the region, the business is comprised of several divisions, each specialising in a different area of physical activity development and delivery: First Step Physical Education, First Step Training, First Step Cycle, Ballers, Active Care and Kids Takeover.
The Position
We are seeking an organised and enthusiastic Sports Coach to deliver the sports club activities at our Active Care afterschool club and assist with the Active Care sessions after the club, delivering a range of play-based and sports activities for children
in our
childcare provision.
This role requires an individual who is confident, knowledgeable, and versatile with the ability to engage young people and you will ideally have experience of working with Primary School children aged 4-7 years.
You will be friendly and approachable and will be able to work creatively to develop a stimulating and exciting environment.
Monday - Friday 3:15pm - 5:15pm (term-time only)
Responsibilities:
• Assisting in the day to day running of the provision
• Providing an excellent Customer experience and Customer liaison
• The safeguarding of all children
• Building links with parents, carers and professionals to promote the well-being of all children
• Promoting the provision within the provision location
• Providing a light tea for the Active Care participants
• Providing holiday cover
Knowledge and Experience Requirements
• Holds a Level 2 coaching badge (Training can be provided - T & C's apply)
• Knowledge and passion for a variety of sports
• Excellent organisation and time management skills
• Level 2 Food Hygiene (Training can be provided)
• First Aid (Training can be provided)
