Building Control Team Leader needed in Scunthorpe, £26.62ph PAYE - Reference: 5273986

You will ideally be -

  • Registered with the Building Safety Regulator to class 2 (A-F) and ability to work towards class 3 (G-H) and Class 4 – Technical Manager

1. Lead the Building Control team and be responsible for their continuous development, having direct line management responsibility for the Building Control team.
2. Oversight of the Quality Management System (QMS) used by the service, carry out internal audits and investigate noncompliance, along with instigating any changes required.
3. Provide advice and interpret policies in respect of Building Control and engage in pre- application discussion, liaising with colleagues and external agencies as required.
4. Keep up to date with changes in the Building Regulations and other relevant legislation and disseminate this information to colleagues to ensure they are familiar with new standards.
5. Maintain a case load of applications of all types (including complex applications) to ensure compliance with the Building Regulations and other relevant legislation and determine these applications.
6. Developed and implement a business and marketing strategy for the service to support an increase in market share.
7. Lead officer for provision of National and Local performance indicators and returns, along with responsibility for liaising and working with the Building Safety Regulator (BSR) and LABC.
8. Develop and maintain effective working relationships between all internal and external partners to enable a One Council holistic overview and delivery of the service.
9. Responsibility for ensuring compliance that members of the building control team always work ethically and in compliance with the Code of Conduct for Registered Building Inspectors

This is a full time role on a temporary basis.
