Crynodeb
To prepare and set up new patients on Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP). This involves patient assessment, explanation of obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) and CPAP therapy, mask fitting, trial of CPAP equipment and downloading compliance data. To plan and organise setting up new patients on non-invasive ventilation, this also includes explanation into therapy, mask fitting and trial of NIV equipment and downloading compliance data and taking appropriate action as necessary. To deal with complex and sensitive clinical queries from new and long-term CPAP and NIV users over the telephone and by email, where there may be barriers to understanding and where is empathy is required.
