We are seeking a dedicated and professional Days Only Electrical Shift Engineer to join our dynamic facilities maintenance team at a key site in Didcot. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient running of all electrical and building services plant and equipment.

  • Job Title: Days Only Electrical Shift Engineer

  • Salary: £50,000 per annum

  • Location: Didcot, Oxfordshire

  • Shift Pattern: 4 on, 4 off (Days Only)

  • Hours: 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM

  • Annual Leave: 20 days per annum

The Role:

As a key member of the engineering team, your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on a wide range of electrical and building services equipment.

  • Conducting fault-finding, diagnostics, and repairs on critical systems, including single and three-phase power, lighting, emergency lighting, fire alarms, and HVAC plant.

  • Performing electrical inspection and testing to ensure compliance and safety across the site.

  • Supervising specialist sub-contractors and ensuring their work meets our high standards.

  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation for all completed work.

  • Upholding the highest standards of Health & Safety at all times.

The Candidate:

We are looking for a motivated engineer with a proactive approach to maintenance. The ideal candidate must have:

  • Essential: A recognised electrical apprenticeship (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent).

  • Essential: 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).

  • Essential: City & Guilds 2391 (or equivalent) in Inspection and Testing.

  • Proven experience working in a facilities management or building services environment.

  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.

  • A positive attitude and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
