Support Worker - Complex Care (Manual Driver Aged 25+ required)
Location: Hornchurch, London
Shifts: 1 to 2 to1 Support. 12 hour shifts, starting from 7:00am and 8:00am. With potential for longer hours to include night cover as needed
Schedule: Preferably covering Tuesdays and Thursdays but open to full week as rota adjustments can be made
Salary: £14- £14.20 per hour (with the ability to access a % of your earnings in just 4 days or less after completing shifts!)*
SweetTree is looking for a Brain Injury Support Worker with an understanding of individuals who have acquired brain injuries, mental health conditions, or a background in fields like Psychology, Neuroscience, Social Work, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, or other health and social care related disciplines. As a Brain Injury Support Worker, you'll receive specialised training and have the unique opportunity to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including clinical psychologists, occupational therapists, speech & language therapists, and rehabilitation clinicians. Whether you're seeking full-time or part-time positions, we would ideally require a minimum commitment of 15 hours per week, with a minimum of 3-hour visits per client to ensure the highest level of care.
We are seeking a reliable, experienced, and emotionally intelligent support worker to assist a young female client recovering from a brain injury sustained in a road traffic accident. Following a 2.5-year period in a semi-vegetative state, the client has made remarkable progress over the past four years and is now actively out and about, engaging in a wide range of activities, though she continues to live with significant physical and cognitive challenges.
The client has limited mobility; she can walk short distances with assistance but uses a wheelchair in the community. She experiences cognitive impairments, including reduced short-term memory, and requires full support with all activities of daily living. Despite her challenges, she enjoys an active and engaging lifestyle.

Cinema outings
Getting her nails done
Walking her dog in the park
Listening to R&B and popular music
She has a quirky sense of humour and appreciates fun, light-hearted interaction.
We are looking for a support worker who is:
Strong, bubbly, and upbeat in personality
Calm and grounded under pressure
Adaptable and able to manage unpredictable situations with empathy and professionalism
Experienced in complex care, particularly with cognitive or neurological needs
Comfortable working in a household with a small dog (pet friendly essential)
Driving Requirements:
Must be over 25 years of age (for insurance purposes)
Must hold a full manual UK driving licence
confident and resposible driver, as you'll be transporting the client betwee locations regularly

Eligibility Criteria:
✅Minimum 3 months experience working with clients with traumatic brain injuries, acquired brain injuries, Parkinson's Disease, Motor Neurone Disease, Huntington's Disease, or Multiple Sclerosis is highly desirable
✅Full UK Manual Driving License
✅Must be Comfortable Around Dogs
✅Ability to provide one-on-one support in clients' homes
✅Dedication to promoting independence and well-being
✅Commitment to client safety and well-being
✅Strong record-keeping and documentation skills
This package also has the potential for a Team Leader position, paid at £16 per hour. Applicants with relevant experience and leadership skills who work on the package for a minimum of 6months consistently will have the opportunity apply.
