Job Title: Senior Childcare Lawyer

Ref: Devon 5273938

Pay rate: £43.12 per hour PAYE

Working Arrangement: Fully remote

Additional requirements: A Basic DBS is required for this role



The role:

We are seeking a Senior Childcare Lawyer for a short-term contract that can be worked remotely.

Key responsibilities:

To oversee and manage a caseload
To respond to requests for advice, representation etc, from employees.
To manage all aspects of court representation as required
To advise and/or present to courts, meetings, members at formal appeal hearings or as required by the County Solicitor
To assume a lead role in advising clients on Childcare law and practice as required and to organise/participate in training events as appropriate and/or necessary.
To take part in the Legal Services’ Out of Hours service to provide assistance to the Emergency Duty Team on matters of Childcare and Adult Social Care



What the client is looking for:

Educated to degree level
Law Society admitted and Solicitor Regulatory Authority registered solicitor, Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives or Bar Standards Board registered Barrister
Specialist in Childcare law
Good advocacy skills
Considerable experience in case management
Demonstrable experience of working as a Childcare Lawyer
Ability to absorb and interpret legislation, case law and procedures
Ability to assimilate facts and present these in a coherent fashion
Ability to assimilate detailed and complex information and make judgments on the way that certain procedures have been followed
Excellent communication and presentational skills both verbal and written including influencing and persuasion
Excellent ICT skills and a degree of administrative self-sufficiency
