We’re excited to be recruiting for a Business Development Manager with great sales and leadership skills to support our Stratford site.


Situated in Stratford Westfield Shopping Centre, Gravity Max is the UK’s biggest name in active entertainment. With attractions such as e-karting, golf, virtual reality, and darts. We're also home to the Heineken bar, a great place to play pool, or watch sport.

More about you

As Business Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in positioning Gravity MAX as the go-to destination for group, social, and corporate event bookings across regional and national markets. Reporting into the Head of Group and Events sales and working closely with the General Manager you will focus on driving revenue growth through strategic outreach, relationship management, and creative sales development.


This is a high-impact role for a self-motivated and results-driven individual with a proven track record in business development, particularly in B2B and B2C venue/event sales. You'll be responsible for identifying new opportunities, nurturing existing partnerships, and showcasing our unique venues to a broad audience.

Key accountabilities and responsibilities

1. Sales & Income Generation


  • Proactively identify and approach new direct and agency clients to position Gravity MAX as a venue of choice
  • Meet and exceed monthly sales targets across group, social and corporate bookings
  • Take a consultative approach to sales, ensuring client needs are exceeded while maximising revenue
  • Convert inbound leads generated by our booking partners (e.g., Hire Space, HeadBox)
  • Develop compelling proposals and negotiate commercial terms with clients and suppliers
  • Research and identify regional sales and partnership opportunities to drive awareness and sales

2. Client Relationships & Account Management


  • Build and nurture long-term client relationships to encourage repeat bookings and referrals
  • Serve as the main point of contact from initial enquiry through to event handover
  • Conduct site visits and venue showcases to drive conversion
  • Represent Gravity MAX at networking events, exhibitions, and trade shows to promote the venue and develop leads


3. Market Insight & Sales Strategy


  • Monitor competitor activity and industry trends to inform and adjust sales strategies
  • Identify new audience segments and partnership opportunities to grow market share
  • Share client and market feedback to support the evolution of pricing, packages, and experiences
  • Where appropriate collaborate with our marketing team to highlight and promote our groups and events proposition regionally.


4. CRM Management & Reporting


  • Maintain accurate records of leads, pipeline activity, and confirmed bookings in the CRM system
  • Produce weekly reports detailing sales activity, meetings, and pipeline progress
  • Ensure data integrity and visibility across the sales process


5. Operational Handover & Collaboration


  • Work closely with the venue operations and event teams to ensure client briefs are delivered to the highest standard
  • Provide comprehensive handovers and, where necessary, support with pre-event planning to ensure seamless execution

Your experience

  • Proven experience in event sales, venue sales, or hospitality business development
  • Strong B2B and B2C sales skills with a demonstrable track record of hitting targets
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Confident in presenting to and influencing senior stakeholders
  • Comfortable working independently and bringing a creative, entrepreneurial mindset to the role
  • Well-organised and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong network of industry contacts (preferred but not essential)
  • Prepared to for work from the venue or attend off site client meetings three days a week and use the remaining days for proactive sales outreach and reporting.
