Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Retail Manager to oversee operations of our busy retail outlet specialising in plasterboard, tools, building materials, and paints. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive professional to lead a growing team and contribute to our business success.
Key Responsibilities:
•Manage procurement, pricing, stock control, and merchandising across all product categories.
•Supervise and lead retail staff – including recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance evaluation.
•Ensure product quality and exceptional customer service standards are consistently met.
•Monitor sales trends and customer needs to inform purchasing and promotional strategies.
•Analyse market trends to drive profitability and implement sales optimisation strategies.
•Maintain health & safety, legal, and regulatory compliance across store operations.
•Prepare and manage budgets, monitor financial performance, and control operational costs.
Candidate Requirements:
•Proven experience in a retail management role, preferably in the building supplies or construction retail sector.
•Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
•Excellent knowledge of inventory management and merchandising.
•Proficiency in budgeting, financial oversight, and sales tracking.
•A proactive, results-driven approach to retail operations.
