Are you a Psychology graduate with clinical mental health experience looking for a new challenge?
We are recruiting a full-time Assistant Psychologist. You'll join a team of clinicians who work to provide the best service possible to both clients and carers. Successful applicants will have to demonstrate experience working in mental health, as well as motivation, enthusiasm, flexibility, willingness to learn and an ability to engage and empathise at a variety of levels.
The Early Intervention in Psychosis service in Oxfordshire is a well-established service providing multidisciplinary team working for all those experiencing a first episode of psychosis. We are a clinical academic service, working alongside researchers from the University of Oxford. We are at the forefront of undertaking research to understand the causes of psychosis and the most effective treatments, and are then able to implement these findings in practice, for the benefit of patients. We have developed our service to provide high quality NICE recommended interventions.

Main duties of the job- Support and enhance the clinical and psychological care of clients within the Early intervention service, across all sectors of care;
providing initial assessments, psychological interventions under the supervision of a qualified professional psychologist and other
AHPs, and working independently according to a plan agreed with a qualified psychologist and the team manager within the overall
framework of the teams policies and procedures. - Play a key role in clinically-related administration, conduct of audits and service evaluations, collection of team outcome measures.
- Development of clinical research projects, teaching and project work as appropriate.

Person specification Qualifications Essential criteria- An upper second-class honours degree, or higher in Psychology. Entitlement to graduate membership of the BPS
- Further post graduate training in relevant area
- Post graduate work with people with mental health problems
- Paid work with people experiencing psychosis or other complex difficulties
- Experience of working with families
- High level communication skills (written & verbal) including an ability to communicate and working settings in which the atmosphere may be highly emotive.
- Experience using software for databases and data analysis
- Understanding of the needs and difficulties of young people with mental health problems
- High degree of organisational skills, ability to adjust priorities.
- High standard of report writing
- An ability to apply existing psychological knowledge to a mental health context
- Interest in working with people with mental health problems
- Able to interact effectively with staff from other disciplines
- Able to work independently and use supervision
- Willing to work flexibly and manage change
- Able to travel across the county
- Able to drive and has a car
